Mazatapec Cubensis was originally collected by Mazatec Indians near Huautla de Jimenez, Mexico. This mushroom was commonly used by the Mazatec peoples in shaman ceremonies.
The true name of this strain should be Mazatec Cubensis, but unfortunately when it was first circulated around the community, the original seller mispelled the name. Instead of changing it to its accurate name, the community let Mazatapec ride.
