Ontario based psilocybin company Redlight Holland, and Oregon based Cannabis company Halo Canna; have announced a non binding agreement of intent to enter in the newly regulated therapeutic psilocybin market in Oregon, following the passing of Bill 109. The joint venture aims to produce psilocybe cubensis and other psilocybin-containing mushroom species products, including those derived from mushroom spores, and supply other future psilocybin treatment centers.
Halo Cannabis which was founded in 2016 started as an extractions company, and has quickly cornered a large market share by buying farms and processing for multiple companies. Halo has now moved to also operate in the new medical market in Lesotho, Africa; and the legal markets in Nevada and California. Halo is looking into the European market with plans to launch there as well. If you have been to a dispensary in Oregon you have seen some of their products.
Redlight Holland has been operating in the legal Netherlands smartshops as a truffle producer. VICE News reported that Redlight Holland released iMicrodose in the Amsterdam market, a microdose product with 15 individually packaged doses. iMicrodose is being launched with a companion app, developed by a tech company in Delaware, for the user to anonymously track their doses and effects. The app also has a virtual 3-d interactive interface to allow a user to supposedly get prepared for what is to come with “visuals” and other tips and tricks for first time users. This product and app are a part of their “legal first” approach, targeting legal markets first to allow for data collection and to build capital. The data will allow a push for legalization, also to let producers be able to move more efficiently in the market. Redlight has plans for other legal markets like Jamaica, Brazil and other countries. You will likely be seeing this company if you plan on utilizing the new psilocybin care centers
