What Is An Isolated Spore Syringe?

Isolated Spore Syringes contain stabilized mushroom genetics in a 100% organic nutrient solution, comparable to liquid culture. These syringes are one format of mushroom spores among several others, such as spore prints, and regular multi-spore syringes.  We include a bit of everything the genetics could come in contact with during their life cycle, such as manure and a variety of grains.     The main difference that sets our isolated syringes apart from liquid cultures is that we ensure no active compounds are produced at any point within the syringe. Through thorough testing and our unique formula, we are able to make sure the syringe contains simply the genetics, without any active compounds. In short, Isolated Spore Syringes are stabilized mushroom genetics, optimized to be completely sterile and to provide the most robust mushroom genetics for your microscopy research.  Isolated Spore Syringes are supplied in 12cc luer-lok sterile syringes with a removable sterile tip cap and a 1.5 inch 16 gauge needle.  

Isolated Spore Syringe vs. Spore Syringe

While regular multi-spore syringes simply contain spores suspended in sterilized water, Isolated Spore Syringes contain stabilized genetics in a nutrient solution.   The difference between Isolated Spore Syringes and regular Spore Syringes is that Isolates are created to achieve a true single phenotype. Typical spore syringes, on the other hand, are made from spores from multiple different mushrooms. That means they can feature dozens of different phenotypes in a single syringe. Because Isolated Spore Syringes are so pure, they are much more resilient than standard spore syringes, and provide the most robust genetics possible for researchers.  

Are Isolated Spore Syringes Legal?

The status of psilocybin legalization varies from state to state, but mushroom spores are legal at the federal level. Because magic mushroom spores don’t contain any psilocybin—the active chemical compound that is a Schedule 1 substance in the United States— spore syringes are federally legal to possess, sell and use for microscopy and other research purposes. The DEA even recently made this clear in a January 2024 letter stating: “If the mushroom spores (or any other material) do not contain psilocybin or psilocin (or any other controlled substance or listed chemical), the material is considered not controlled.”
