Cabo Rojo Spore Syringes come from a wild strain of cubensis found growing out of cow dung in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. This Puerto Rican cubensis was then domesticated and gifted to us to share with the mushroom community.

Cabo Rojo mushrooms are absolutely gorgeous. They boast golden cream colored caps and long squiggly white stems. Cabo Rojo cubensis stems can get really long, but the cool thing is their caps don’t open early and curl upward. Instead, at the tip of the long, spindly stems, there are small dome shaped caps. Because of this they’re not super heavy spore producers, but their funky fruits make up for it!

Spore features: Cabo Rojo spores are dark purple and light in deposit.

Cap / Stem features: Cabo Rojo mushrooms have small, golden cream colored caps that can form a white ring around the edge. Their stems are very long and squiggly, giving them a funky appearance.

Lineage: Originally foraged on cow dung in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, this is a Puerto Rican cubensis landrace strain that was domesticated by friends of ITW.
