Minami Okinawa Spore Syringe

Minami Okinawa spore syringe is very special because it is our first wild magic mushroom strain from Japan. It was originally foraged on Ishigaki Island, Japan, in the province of Okinawa. The Psilocybe cubensis name in Japanese is Minami Shibiretake, ミナミ  シビレタケ , which means “south numbing mushroom.” Minami is also a normal girl’s name in the region, and so that’s why this strain was dubbed “Minami Okinawa.”

Minami Okinawa mushrooms have cute, golden brown caps that form a white ring around their edge as they expand. They release purple spores that are light in deposit. Their stems are white and hollow and fairly thin.

Spore features: Minami Okinawa spores are purple and light in deposit.

Cap / Stem features: Minami Okinawa mushrooms have cute, golden brown caps that form a white ring around the edge as they expand. Their stems are white and hollow and fairly thin.

Lineage: Originally foraged on Ishigaki Island, Japan, close to Taiwan. The actual Ps cubensis name in Japanese is Minami Shibiretake, ミナミ  シビレタケ (south numbing mushroom). Minami is also a normal girl’s name. So that’s why “Minami Okinawa” was chosen for the name.

Minami Okinawa was gifted to us through a friend of the Minami Self Help Group, a private Facebook group dedicated to the cultivation of this unique Japanese strain.
