Psilocybe ochraceocentrata is a recently identified species with a fascinating story. Ochraceocentrata (or Ochras for short) was identified because of a groundbreaking study done in 2024, which revealed that the beloved Ps. Natalensis we all knew in the community was not Natalensis at all. The distinct species, though distinct from Natalensis, has similar origins in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Fascinatingly, the study found that Ps. Cubensis and Ps. Ochraceocentrata share not just similar attributes and habitats, but also common ancestry.

For interested researchers, we also carry Ps. Ochraceocentrata  Isolated Spore Syringes
